Kāpiti Celebrates Innovation and Excellence at the 2025 Electra Business Awards
The 2025 Electra Business & Innovation Awards was a celebration of the incredible talent, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit across the Kāpiti region. This year’s awards showcased a diverse range of businesses making their mark across industries, from hospitality and retail to technology and sustainability.
Libby Hakaraia Inducted into the Kāpiti Hall of Fame
A highlight of the evening was the induction of Libby Hakaraia into the Kāpiti Hall of Fame, recognising her extraordinary contribution to the region and beyond. As the driving force behind the internationally acclaimed Māoriland Film Festival, Libby has elevated Kāpiti onto the global stage, celebrating Indigenous storytelling, fostering creativity, and championing the arts. Her vision and leadership continue to inspire, leaving a lasting legacy of cultural impact and community pride.
Kapiti Clusters: Food & Beverage, Technology and Tourism represented

The Bond Store led the celebrations, winning both Electra Business of the Year and the Manufacturing, Production & Processing Award
Seriously Pickled Catering Kitchen & Deli, who took home the Retail Award, and Roses Chilli Crisp, recognised as the New/Emerging Business Award winner.
Kāpiti Island Nature Tours earned the Hospitality, Entertainment & Tourism Award, while Pipi Learning Ltd took out the Professional & Business Services and/or Technology Award. Elite Diagnostics, impressed the judges by taking out three awards: the Construction & Trades Award, Small Business Award, and Innovation Award. Not for Profit, Community & Public Services Award, being awarded to Work Ready Kapiti.
