Interested in how young people are starting to engage with the tools shaping future skills?
This hands-on session introduces rangatahi aged 10+ to technologies such as 3D printing and AI-assisted “vibe coding”, using the tools available in the Paraparaumu Library Maker Space.
The session focuses on practical exploration, showing how ideas can move from concept to something tangible, and how these tools are being used to support early learning, creativity and problem-solving.
Participants will be guided through how 3D printing works, see examples created locally, and use simple AI tools to help develop their own ideas.
While designed for young people, sessions like this reflect a broader shift in how skills are being developed, with more emphasis on applied learning, experimentation and digital capability from an early stage.
Participants should bring a Chromebook or iPad where possible.
Parental or caregiver permission is required, and bookings are essential.
